The Institute for Economic Development of the Warsaw School of Economics has been conducting business surveys in the banking sector since the end of the 1990s. Along with the initiative to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of research, there is a need to summarize the collected achievements and reflect on the processes experienced by the banking sector. The key ones were related to the ownership processes and the dynamic development of know-how in this industry.
Does ownership structure in the banking sector matter to a country's economic growth and prosperity? Should the state be the leading owner in the banking sector? Has Polish / domestic private capital achieved success in the banking sector? Do cooperative forms of deposit and credit services have a future in Poland?
